Could someone give me advice on where to stay for a night in Las Vegas (on/or close to strip) in August 2005. We are a family of 5 (3 children : 18, 15, 12). Can we all sleep in one room ? Most internet booking sites accept up to max. 4 people in a room... !
Thks

August rates are usually the lowest of the year, especially Sunday through Thursday, so you might be surprised how affordable two rooms can be (unless you can%26#39;t trust the kids alone!).
With a family for one night, I%26#39;d suggest MGM Grand, Mirage, Luxor, Excalibur, Tropicana, but look for a post from earlier this week titled something like ';July/August Hotels';. A lot of good ideas.
But just one night? That%26#39;s barely enough time to dip your toes in the pool!

Seriously, you probably want two rooms. I%26#39;m thinking your two oldest would think it cool to have their own room, and the youngest could stay with you. For one night, you can probably afford it. As to where, probably the Excalibur, Sahara, and maybe Luxor in that order will give you the best rates. (they are the most ';family oriented'; hotels on the strip IMHO.)
Just off the strip is the Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort. They offer 2 bedroom aprtmanet type units which are fully furnished - nice TV, Stereo system, full kitchen with all the utensils and a nice pool - they also have a shuttle to and from the strip - cost is very reasonable.
We will arrive June 22 and like you have 3 kids, 19, 17, 15. Tried to find a hotel that would take a rollaway but do to fire codes we were told only four to a room but we could get two rooms as close as possible together at twice the single room rate. As this will be probably our last family vactation I want us all together so for $365 a night for7 nights we will be living in style with a two room sweet suite. A little more than we wanted to pay but, you only live once and sometimes only have one heck of a vacation for the kids. We will be at the Orleans. Forgot to say on our heck of a vacation we will be taking them to Disney Land, Universal studios, The Queen Mary, San Diego and Mexico. only 100 days left.
don%26#39;t forget the Orleans-great prices-family style-fridge and microwave in your room. check out the site.they have a huge move theater and even an cool bowling alley.good luck and have fun-make sure to check out the free stuff to do in vegas and go to vegas coupons for deals on food and the cheaper kind of shows.
Would go with staying on the strip in middle location.
The Mirage hotel is always a good choice and the rooms are
really spacious and nice. The swimming pool is excellent here.
They also have many dining choices and the food is good.
If you stay at the mirage you would be close to these other hotels
Treasure Island (next door)
Caesar%26#39;s Palace (also next door)
Monte Carlo
Harrah%26#39;s (across the street)
Luxor
Paris
Venetian (directly across the street)
Flamingo
