Black Jack Virgin

Hey Everyone,

Coming to Vegas 3/27-3/31 for my second time. Last time I generally played video poker and slots and this time I want to play some blackjack. Never played a table game at a casino. Any tips as to where the lowest tables are or if there%26#39;s any casino that would be easier to learn at? Staying at the Aladdin.

Any suggestions?

Usually Downtown casinos and $3 tables at the Sahara. Also, as you are in town on the 28th why not come to the meet %26amp; greet at Maragrittaville - don%26#39;t know whether you have read about it but a whole bunch of us are meeting up there at 2.00pm. Should be fun.

Hey Suzy,

Thanks for the info. I do already have the invitation for the meet %26amp; greet. Can%26#39;t wait to meet everyone. See you there!! 12 more days for us!!!

I%26#39;ve never played there, but the Boardwalk is rumored to have some low limit tables, which might be good for you to learn at. I don%26#39;t know if they offer lessons. The Stardust has classes every day -- Vegas Man can give you details. They will teach blackjack in between the craps lessons.

Barbary Coast is not as close to your hotel as Boardwalk, but they should have some low limit games. O%26#39;Shea%26#39;s is to be avoided at all costs -- they only offer 6:5 payoffs on a natural, even on shoe games, and that is a rip off. (If you don%26#39;t know what that means: the proper pay-off on a natural is 3:2. On a $10 bet, the casino will pay you $15. On a 6:5 game, the casino will only pay you $12, ripping you off for $3. O%26#39;Shea%26#39;s is teh only casino I have seen that is paying only 6:5 on multi-deck games. Most casinos will pay only 6:5 on single deck games, which is one reason I won%26#39;t play single deck.) Imperial Palace has low limits and the crowd is having a fun time. But be careful to check in the ';Dealtainer'; and ';Champagne'; areas to see if they are paying 6:5 or 3:2 on naturals.

Please learn basic strategy before you go.

And remember to tip the dealer if he/she is giving good service.

Boardwalk%26#39;s the place for you. I%26#39;ve seen $3 tables during the day, and $5 tables 24/7. Fun place. Catch Purple Reign in the lounge late night weekends.

BTW, I%26#39;m joining Mike45 in his O%26#39;Sheas boycott. 6:5 on multi-decks is a rip-off designed to stiff low-limit players.

Try Slot of Fun next to CC.

Hey Guys,

Thank for your advise. I think I will head over to Boradwalk to earn my fortune. I have also heard on here that the Purple Reign is awesome so I will definately check that out. Thanks!!

Neko, does Slots O Fun have table games? I was only there once, almost 20 years ago (Stratosphere was then called Bob Stukah%26#39;s [or something like that]), and my recollection was that it was only slots.

The first real blackjack I ever played was at the Boardwalk. It isn%26#39;t as pretty as other strip casinos but they have low table limits and the dealer was really helpful -- gave a lot of tips about basic strategy and table etiquette. I%26#39;m sure that I was playing on a table that payed 6:5 for blackjack ... but it did not matter since I was just learning and they were helpful.

Now that I%26#39;m a more experienced player, I%26#39;ll never play a table that pays 6:5 again.

The Imperial Palace has lots of $5 tables. But stay away from the dealertainers because blackjack pays 6:5
