San Remo or Stratosphere?

Planning a trip for mid-May. It%26#39;s a toss-up, price wise, between these 2. Strat is a bit cheaper, but SR seems to be a better location....any advice?

San Remo or Stratosphere?

If you do go with the strat, location isn%26#39;t too much of a problem, as there is the monorail running the strip from Sahara to MGM.

San Remo or Stratosphere?

if your going to rent car i would go with strat,

no car ? sr.

b.t.w. hooters is taking over s.r., its good thing s.r. is not fun casino maybe get some life in that place

Returned this week.....went into San Remo casino on last day mainly checking out various places in anticipation of return visit.

San Remo is on my %26#39;would never stay here...even for free%26#39; list. This was a friday and the casino was lifeless, atmosphere unappealing, any staff I dealt with disinterested. Also really small.

Vegas is such a great place, hate to see you not get the most out of your visit. Suggest almost any place other than SR. Others on this forum have talked about Barbary Coast....have you checked their rates......it is an excellent location and I believe pretty reasonable pricewise, but have no personal experience, just picked up on opinions on this forum.

If you are a beginner and plan to play table games, stay at the Remo. The last post mentioned what it was like on a Friday night, this is true. This also means you can practice there on low min ($2 BJ 24/7). If not, and you have a car, stay at the Strat. The Strat has much better dinning options, but the Remo is a two min walk from MGM, Tropicana, etc...

Stayed at San Remo in April 2004. I liked it. The $2 tables are always open, but they are frequently filled. Other than that, the casino is pretty dead. The rooms are decent sized and clean. The prime rib special is very good for the price. The location is not as good as Center Strip IMO, but for South Strip it%26#39;s great. The Strat is just too far north for me.

I%26#39;ve stayed at the ';ream-you'; before. I don%26#39;t need anything fancy as I don%26#39;t plan on using the room for more than a few hours a night. All I need is somewhere to rest my head at night and a place to shower in the morning. Location wise, I think I%26#39;ll take the SR again. I%26#39;ve heard the monorail is not that convenient.
