Here is a link that will get you FREE Hertz #1 Club Gold. ($50 value) -- http://www.mousesavers.com/hertz.html
So is Hertz that much better than the other companies? It seems they are double the rates. I went with them because they don%26#39;t authorize your credit card an astronomical amount(I only have a very low limit card) and they were only ones in vegas among top companies that carried a mustang convertible. Any experience with them??
Hertz deal
Hertz is a dependable internationally recoginzed car rental agency - I have never heard a bad word about them - Now Alamo on the other hand - two experiences (Should have learned from the first) I will never will use them again. First time in Hawaii - the car was roach infested - not a couple of them, they were throughout the car - it was embarassing. Second time in Colorado, they gave me a car that looked like someone had taken a bat to it - dents everywhere - including the roof - over 100 dents in all - filed concern in both instances - never heard a word back. Poor quality poor service, just poor all around.
My preferance - National. I joined the Emerald club, I never see a counter. Straight from the plane to the bus. Bus drops me off in a lot filled with the newest cars - keys in them. I just choose the car I want, present my emerald club card at the gate and off I go - fastest service I have had.

Be cautious. My experience with travel for leisure and work is that people often go out of their way to book on Emerald or Hertz Gold or Joe%26#39;s Special Club for points, perks, etc. But sometimes, you are paying for the perks in the long run.
While I am a member of Hertz Gold, I saved a TON by going through Payless Car Rental in Vegas (1 week - Dodge Neon for $120 with taxes and fees).
I could have earned a few miles or some other small perks, but the overall savings by not using them was greater. Go price miles on your airline site. The 500 bonus miles are really worth nonthing.
Same goes for hotel clubs. I use Hilton Honors but sometimes, it just is not worth the extra cost.
To answer the next question, yes Payless is fine. 3 times running now with them and never a line and never an issue.

I could not agree with u more. The reason I got the gold at Hertz was it was free, so might as well. Plus, its my g/f%26#39;s 21st birthday, and she wanted a mustang convertible for a day. Hertz was only one I saw. Otherwise, its kinda like gambling for comps. You pay more in the long run just to get a free steak that day.
I am guessing that although this offer waives the 50 dollar annual fee for the first year but they will automatically bill you yearly after that.
Having said that, I am going more and more with Hertz. If you look around you can get deals with them (I use my American Airlines FF club to get the deals) and their service has been much better than most of the discount auto rentals.
